This precedent assignment of copyright should be used to transfer the copyright in a work or works from one party to the other.

The assignment may be "with full title guarantee". Alternatively, the assignor may simply pass on the rights he or she (or it) owns, without guaranteeing the extent of that ownership. Assignees will however usually want some kind of assurance that the assignor owns the relevant rights.

The template assignment of copyright includes an optional moral rights waiver. Of course, this kind of waiver will be subject to the mandatory provisions of applicable law, which in some cases may render the waiver ineffective.

It also includes an optional indemnity to protect the assignee.
